Projects
Here's a (partial) list of retro development projects I've worked on over the years. Click on the links to go to their respective GitHub pages:
Completed
- Secret Legacy of the Ancient Caves (SLAC): A VGA roguelike using the 16-color DawnBringer palette. It also contains a bit of metaprogression; you can find artifacts as you play, and each provides a small bonus that persists on future characters after death.
- Damaniel's Pixel By Number: A 'fill in the colors' game - complete a picture by marking squares of the same number with the same color. Think of it as a computerized version of something like cross stitch or diamond painting.
- Damaniel's Pixel By Number - ASCII edition: The same idea as DamPBN, but in text mode. It works surprisingly well, considering the limitations. Supports 43/50 line displays.
- Move-It, Man!: A Sokoban clone using the 160x100 CGA text 'graphics' mode.
Incomplete
- Damanoid: A block breaker game using the CGA 160x100 text 'graphics' mode.
- CGA-SLAC: a mini roguelike using the 160x100 CGA text 'graphics' mode. Targets any x86 PC (8088 or better) with 640k of RAM and a CGA.
