Damaniel's Retro Development (and more)!

Welcome to Damaniel's unapologetically old-school website! Here you'll find pages related to various projects I'm working on, hobby-related pages, and whatever else I can think of.

My first initial stab at a page layout. I write a lot of code, but I'm really bad at designing websites. HTML and CSS aren't hard, but making something not look like garbage is. I'm also not optimizing at all (or really caring at all) about mobile - PC is my platform of choice so if it looks wrong on mobile then I'll probably just leave it as-is.

Eventually, the goal is to have pages dedicated to the various retro (mainly MS-DOS) projects I've worked on over the years, and possibly a devlog for one that I've just started working on. I also have a number of other hobbies that are all some form of 'put blocks of color together in some way creatively'. This includes:

I'll no doubt post some pictures of those projects as well.

As a side note, the background image for this page is actually taken from a screenshot of one of my DOS retrodev projects.

It's a game called Damaniel's Pixel By Number, a very casual 'color the squares' game that feels similar to something like cross stitching or diamond painting. I even have an ASCII version called DamPBNAscii, originally created as a joke but which ended up being not that terrible.

My next dev related goal is to work on an RPG project I've been tossing around, involving finding missing pieces of mosaics that were originally designed to seal in evil powers. Yep, so original. That being said, I have some cool ideas related to it that I'd like to start keeping a devlog about. TBD.
